speechBITE would like to extend sincere gratitude to the following evidence-based practice initiatives for providing invaluable support without which the development of speechBITE would not have been possible.
speechBITE gratefully acknowledges the invaluable contribution from PsycBITE. The founding committee of PsycBITE, led by Professor Robyn Tate, provided substantial support and resources that made speechBITE a possibility. speechBITE is based on the model provided by PsycBITE, uses identical rating systems and was successfully launched as a result of a significant contribution of papers from PsycBITE to the speechBITE database. This included 455 treatment studies on acquired communication disorders and 54 randomised and non-randomised controlled trials for use on the speechBITE website.
We would also like to acknowledge the significant contribution of the Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro) for their role in promoting evidence-based practice in health care and for the development of the PEDro scale. speechBITE gives particular thanks to the PEDro project manager, Anne Moseley, whose advice and guidance has been invaluable.
